Age 2 maxi TC boom
Hauçás
A recent lionheart video reminded me that african civ are egregiously unexplored rather than weak. That gave me ideas.
Game plan
Perform a greedy variant of the fulani opening, then use your influence crates to produce up to 3 extra town centers and set up one of the greediest booms in age 2.
Age I :
Classic hausa opening. Age at 15 population with the Hausa alliance. In transition chop for 300w and 300c. 200 of each resource will be spent on a university (to build with your emir), and the rest will pay for snares at the granary when you reach age 2. Once you have collected the resources, shift all your villagers back to food. Place your university in range of your TC, (and a TP if possible) and set it to XP generation.
Age II :
Ship 700 influence (700i thereafter) immediately. Research snares at the granary. Use the hausa builder to make a warcamp and sell a cow for wood (you should get >250 wood) for a TP and training fulani archers. [If you are 100% sure you will not be attacked for the next 5min, make a TP with the hausa builder, do not sell the cow and simply research the remaining market T1 upgrades]. Collect the wood crates to build a house and finish
Once the 700i arrives, collect it with two villagers and research Hausa Bakwai (tech that increases the TC build limit by 4). You will be able to ship 600i, followed by Amina's Palace (palace + 400i). All this influence will pay for the kingdom builders, who will then build your TCs.
Keep building units to cover your TCs and use your TCs to secure food sources. You will need enormous amounts of food to grow your economy. Switch your university to influence and enjoy.
Follow up
The magic from Hausa comes from their seemingly endless ability to boom. Once you have your TCs around, build universities using floating wood and coin, then build palaces in range. This will significantly increase your influence income. When going age 3, choosing the fulani enables you to grow your economy further by increasing the size of you herd. After researching the transhumance tech, your flock of goats and cows will generate a large amount of influence (on top of the university one) that will fund an army of falconets and/or mercenaries.
What if I am attacked early ?
If you are rushed, you can use the influence to train levied pikemen to cover your fulani archers. You can opt to send crates of wood for more fulani later. There is no point building TCs if you cannot get them to work.
Water variant
Replace the cards marked by "W" by "2 battle canoes" and "3 battle canoes"
