7 lucky gods boom

You like shrine booming ? You'd like to greed some more ? This is the build for you. The traditional shrine boom leads to an extended age 2 play and likes water maps (3 boats from consulate). This shrine boom works better when going to age 3 soon as you will be swimming in XP and prefers land maps. In exchange, you will be more vulnerable in the early stages of the boom.

Age I

Perform a normal Portuguese consulate opening. Ship heavenly kami first. However, instead of going with the Toshogu Shrine, age up with the Torii gate.

In transition, ship 7 lucky gods and chop for a shrine, then a market. Keep 6 villagers on berries to maintain villager production. As soon as 7LG is in, switch shrines to produce XP. Once the market is up remacro to wood and coin for the first food upgrade.

Age II

Ship 600 wood twice and use that wood to cover the map in shrines. The base XP gather rate of shrines is very high so it is not imperative to put them in hunts. Your explorers likely won't be enough to turn all the wood income into shrines so use a villager or two. From this point you will react to what your enemy is doing. Your ideal game plan is to age up as soon as it is safe to do so to leverage your massive XP income.

Branching paths

• Under light pressure from your enemy, macro for 1100 f and 400 c and ship 600c after your shrines are built. It is ok if your enemy burns a shrine or two. You can rebuild them for cheap and the build bounty is greater than the kill bounty.
• If an age 2 timing is coming, produce military barracks and ship some more.
• If an age 3 falconet timing is coming, age up with the shrine, ship diplomatic intrigue and aim to get the Portuguese army with a culverin.
• If your enemy is greeding too, age up with the Shogunate, ship diplomatic intrigue in transition and ally with the spanish. Combine nanban trade with the crate shipment to double batch military units and overrun your opponent.
